1/2" material on the bottom?? I'd pass LOL I'd just make sure it was on a hell of a good and solid stand

Prices are about what I've seen in edmonton also. Just keep looking and eventually you'll find a good cheap one. If your thinking of building in the future just buy your glass or acrylic for your viewing window of the tank you want now and make your tank smaller in the width department. Just to give you a heads up. I've been looking in edmonton for a sheet of acrylic 10' x 4' x 1.5" for 2 months and nobody has them or will bring them in. Some aquarium builders won't get involved due to legal issues. You'll probably want to go smaller than 4' on hieght due to the thickness of the acrylic and finding it may be hard in Canada.
