300 gallon acrylic small leak

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Anytime you have a leak I like to make sure I have two layers of protection to do a repair. First get 3/8" square stock and use weld 16. Do not use the thin stuff as it will not seal as easy. Place these on the inside of the tank to cover up the spot where it leaks go over at least 6 inches further than the leak spot to make sure you have it covered really well. That is stage one. Next get some thin pieces 1/8th" by 1inch tall to go on the out side of the tank. Place these so they cover the seam on the outside of the tank. This will make sure you have a great seal. Use the same weld 16. You can hold the piece on with your hands hold for 10min at that point it will be sealed really well. Ask me for more help or if you need more info on how to do it and I will help you 100%

Thats how I would fix it.

Thanks everyone I am really excited to start working on it. We have a bamboo shark egg that looks like it will be hatching soon in our 55 and I know we can't keep him in there for long. I hope this works I just ordered the weld-on 16 can't wait to start.
