300 gallon basement pond

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Very nice! Can't wait to see it all done up!

Merry Xmas MFK! my liner came today so I am in the process of putting it in. I decided to add 5 more layers of 2 x 4's bringing the depth up to about 2'. will post pictures soon

Here is some pics of the pond built up higher. Forgive the shoddy insulating job I had to make it taller with scraps. The liner is much harder to place just right than I thought it would be, the pics are in the middle of moving it around. It is filling now and will post more pics once its full. P.S. its closer to 375gal now

Very nice. Yes liners can be hard to get right it took me a few hrs to get mine right in my pond. Looks good though can't wait to c it finished

thanks got it filled with water and sand. I chose white silica sand for its affordable price (got it from lowes, they gave me the bags with small rips in them for 1/2 off-$3.25 for 50lbs cant beat that.) also the white sand makes the fish easier to see and is easy to clean. I couldent get the liner perfect no matter how long I tried, but settled for a few small folds at the corners. I will post some more pics once the water clears up. I found some small dual halogen light fixtures In my mom's basement today, i think they would light it up pretty well. I dont remember the wattage but has anyone used halogens on a FW pond before? I know its a major NO NO on reef systems but maby ok for FW?
