i have recently bought a black arowana about 8in or bigger i am trying to decide what to house with him he is currently only with a common pleco and has some plants floating on top to hide in. he eats everyday and seems to be growing quickly what should i put in their with him that would not hurt him.
i was considering putting a fire eel and a liberian orange spotted eel in their in the future i already have them both in seperate tanks

hey im in the same boat with you but i have silver one he is about 5-6", will have to move him within a month or 2, but im looking to house him in 150-200 gallon long style to due arowana nature..300gallon would be even better than mine!!
mine will house an arowana and 2 senagal bichers they r yin&yang LOL

i have a selection of bichirs i can add with him literally any one i want between the 2 tanks full. i was probably gonna go a different route i like the motoro stingray im wondering about their stinger though and maybe the irridesent shark i got stuck with

Once your aro is 12" or so, you can go with most any tankmates within reason.

Do the motoro on the bottom, discus mid, and the black aro on top. That would be a beautiful setup.

Been wanting a 300 wide, be sure to get the 30 deep and not 30" tall.
I've been wanting black aro, motoros, endli if and when possible some geos, either altifrons, heckelii,or OHT. But getting the 300 is key!
