advice for those who want to save money by building there own tank, don't cut costs by buying wafer board!!! it sucks. it's not as strong, doesn'e even attempt to resist water, and is a #%@&% to seel. i estimate i may have been able to cut the amount of resin i used to seel down to a half or even a third of what i used. so really, it cost more in the long run.

OSB + water = bad news all around.

You could throw some good ply on top of that chip board. And then seal it the same way as planned.

i though about that but the current fiberglass seal isn't perfectly even, especially the corners, which are what matter, because i matted them for strength. so if i did that i would either have to rip out and sound the current fiberglass off or have a new uneven lining. i'm gonna go all the way with this, i really don't think it'll have a problem, i have 1 3/4 gallons of resin lining the thing now and plan on adding another quart or so, so i trust it... as of now. wish me luck.

heres some pics with my jack russel for size comparison. it fun when you can toss your dog into the fish tank you built then jump up into it yourself:headbang2
next, swimmin with the fishes:naughty:
