First of all, for carpet plant - go DRY start and monte carlo. You won't be sorry.
Lights: I'd go for LEDs with dimmable function and use a timer (socket plugin).
Fertilizers: no opinion here.
Gravel/Substrate: ADA Amazonia soil.
