From what i have looked up online it looks like 1.5" drain line can flow 2000 gph. 3/4" pipes will flow 660 gph. This is the site i found it on http://flexpvc.com/WaterFlowBasedOnPipeSize.shtml

Very cool. Believe it or not I got the 600gph info from reefforums. Figured they knew what they where talking about. Guess not. Thanks for the link. very helpful

Well after doing a bit more research I found this.......

I guess its the 1 1/2" bulkhead that i need to be concerned about, not the pipe itself....now Im really confused. It appears that, based on the test a 1 1/2" bulkhead will only flow 975gph. X 2 =1950gph. That appears to be about 1000gph short based on the pump output of 2900gph.

now im really confused........Bueller?
