1 silver aro, 1 oscar and 1 motoro ray! i've always wanted to do that.

Nope, that wouldnt be overstocked! But if I was you, I'd do like 5 O's and maybe a couple Sev's or something. On another forum I've read that Oscars tend to school together when you get 5+ and a group dynamic forms. A tank that size could handle it and it'd be really fun watching a pack of O's swimming around. Over on cichlid-forum.com there's a guy name ThatFishGuy who's been raising O's for years and has a 900g tank with like 9 of them. You might want to go over there and ask him or search the boards for info. Good luck!

I dont have the money for rays and aros. I'm only 14! I built this tank myself.
hmmmmm... then i'd go with some sevs and a pair of oscars, maybe with a common pleco thrown in for variety.

You lucky Bastage!

I wish, WISH, to have a tank that size!

I would go with:

2 O's
2 Golds
2 Red Shoulder
2 Greens

and let them build from there!

what is it with just one or two species?

start a community cichlid tank

I agree do some O's and some RT's, GT's, a jag and some vieja and just pack it FULL and put on a drip or do some mad water changes.

maybe not plural on species but put a bunch of different ones to tone down aggression.

If not do Geos

How about a silver aro (which are not usually more than 20$), and 5 oscars! The oscars WILL school and have group dynamics. You can look at thefishguy's 800g with 9 oscars (and lots of other fish) for an example.
