How about a silver aro (which are not usually more than 20$), and 5 oscars! The oscars WILL school and have group dynamics. You can look at thefishguy's 800g with 9 oscars (and lots of other fish) for an example.

Dude you're 14 and built your own 300 gallon tank? Very impressive...post some pics, man! Let's check it out. :headbang2

how about 2jack dempsy 2oscars 1 jaguar and a catfish

Ok, I will put pictures up when I stock it. I really want a pair of breeding green severums. How fast do they grow and how old are they when they start to pair off?

If you get a breeding pair of sevs., you will have about 300 fish in 2 years, maybe even more. You will be begging people to take them from you. Of course, the oscars you are wanting may pic off some of the smaller ones. To answer your question, they grow fairly fast, a 2 incher will be 5 or 6 in in a year, especially in a 300 gal. They should start breeding around the 4 to 5 inch range, assuming you get a pair.

I was going to say they grow fairly slow. A 2" fish that only grows to 5-6" after a year is slow IMO. Buuuut......Severum are pretty cool especially when they get some size on them. Mine started breeding at about 4".
