Could always go with some more "geo type" fish - satanoperca or heckelii. As far as tetras go, I'd try for a tight schooler. Cardinals would be awesome, but would likely end up snacks. Bloodfin tetras perhaps? They're not super colorful, but red fins look good & they're a good schooler
