Well here we go finally. I've been building this tank for almost a year now as got some other things to do in the meantime. Planning started already 2 years ago by searching for new house where I could build a larger tank for stingrays and other amazon fishes I have.
Basics:
- Measures: 2950 x 1200 x 800 (~116" x 48" x 31")
- Aquarium volume: 3000 liters ~ 800 gallons
- Total volume including terrarium: 6000 liters ~ 1600 gallons
- Filtration: 6000L/H sand filter with 2 chambers to give better biological filtration
Materials:
- 21mm plywood with studs from same material
- Steel frames around glass and back wall
- Base from concrete blocks
- Topped 760 grams of fiberglass with epoxy
- 15mm Float glass
- Laminate to cover the structures
- Acryl sheets to cover the terrarium
Inhabitants:
- 2x L25, 3x L282, L600, 2x Adonis, P.hystrix, P.motoro, 2x S.daemon, 7x G.winemilleri, Gymnotus carapo, Osteoglossum ferreirai, Cichlasoma festae
- To be added: Lepisosteus Oculatus, Electric Blue Jack Dempsey, L14, L155, L48, Cichla ocellaris...
