300gal blow out

will i set up my 300gal i got off craigs list in my down stairs bar and was awoke last night by a big boom and found 300gal of water and 50 gold fish swimming around my floor. really bumbed out today. like watching a dream and money go right to the craper. the whole front of the tank just shot right off. so bo-hu bo-hu. for me. im sad.

I'm really sorry about what happened to you.

Is there a lesson to be learned here? What could have been done differently? Or is it just one of those things that happens when you buy a used tank? I'm curious because I've never bought a new tank in my life and I'm wondering how to avoid this situation if at all possible.

i feel ya bro i had a 240 acrylic blow out right in front of me it sucks but i filled it on my porch b4 it went into the house so i was lucky
