300ish Gallon plywood - First attempt

i just spent my time reading like the whole thread. and im in a simular situation. got a shop in my house.. but my problem is sealing the tank and the glass.. i seen what u are sealling with and i have the same exact calck so im happy... but what is the price gana b for a peace off glass for it? if u dont mind me asking or r u just gana use one from the shop?

Gotta keep in mind that I'm covering the caulk with the liquid rubber paint. It is not approved fish safe so it needs to be covered.


For 1/2" glass in the size I need of 71 x 29 it is gonna be about 210 from my local suppliers.

Not to long. I think it will be successful. My little cardboard box held water till it unfolded. Then I floated it in water and the paint held it together. The paper came apart but the rubber held solid.

well we don't need to worry about your tank or sump coming apart because your craftmenship looks great and I think its going to work out great for you

Thanks for that vote of confidence. I truly hope this works cause I'll have an amazing tank i can be proud of. I think thats the most important part of the DIY route.

yah i planed on getting a gallon or 2 of the rubber stuff they use for koi ponds.. its basicallly the same stuff your using just diffrent brand.. but im building a tank that is allmost the same size as urs mines a like 310g:headbang2. how much sealent should i get? im doing a 75g sump glass so i dont have 2 worry about sealing that. and thankx
