300W heater for 50g tank

If room temp affects performance. Should I add another heater to raise the temp or is it a lost cause. When the lights are on temp rises about 3deg.
I have a problem w/ ich and treating w/ salt. So temp is real important.
I am new to MFK. Thanks for responding
