Awesome looking tank man! I love it! I want to try to make something like this!

I really recomend you to build something like this!! It is very easy to keep all the parameters good for them, the only hard part is to keep pH as low as it can be (around 5.6 degrees), but with a quick pH handling investigation this turns out to be easy! I used a lot of HOME MADE or NATURAL methods to low the pH (coconut fiber, the indian almond leafs, and other natural chemicals).

Well first of all.. Thanks!!! uhmm I didn't use a wood in specific! I just walked over my garden and found some thin dry branches, I took them home and took away any spiderweb or insect that was attached to the branches, then with some water I cleaned the branches and a huge amount of dirt was removed! Then I just introduce the branches on the tank!

Awesome tank! What do you feed the leaffish?

Thanks for your comment!! My leaffishes are eating Live Fishes only, I give them about two 2.5cm Mosquito Fish, or "oluminas" as we know them here at Costa Rica, to each leaf, the leafs are about 5cm long! So they are eating daily their own weight in food! lol pretty nasty hunters!! Oh, feeder fish are gut loaded with cichlid food :) that's it!!

very cool! I remeber I tried something like that before too...

Your tank is awsome, your fish look healthy and you are a insperation. It one point I did a boreo biotope, it was a lot of work doing all the research and sadly I have no pics of it. But you have done awsome work here and you should be really proud.

Thanks a lot! Must of all was a very long period of studying as much as possible this fishes! I'm still learning how to keep them at a fish tank!

Hi MFK's! I was wondering... Do you know about someone who have a proyect similar to the one I have, or at least with leaf fish on a tank? I just want to know if you have to do something extra to make leaffish spawn!

Thanks!
