from what ive heard haitiensis isnt a very good community fish, and either the managuense or motag pairs will trash **** in there when they breed

Yes, ive being watching some breeding vids. and yea those pairs wont work. Right now im thinking of doing like three pairs of smaller cichlids ie: Jack Dempsyes, Silver Suam, Texas or Firemouth. Then adding in some large dithers like 8 silver dollars then some bleeding heart tetras. they get 3 inch so just large enough not to get eaten but good target fish.

have to reiterate multiple pairs of anything that will breed is absolutely not recommended in a community setting. the smaller will help though. alot better than trying to keep jags.
