Jars are relatively peaceful at that size, wait until it hits 12" and then see if it works. And 5 minutes does not mean they get along, my jar put up with a molly for half an hour before deciding to kill it.

very true. I've heard that they become killers after they hit the 12" mark oh well, wonder what i'm in for. My jar has had a giant gourami as a tank mate for quite awhile though and my silver is much bigger so hopefully it will work!

GL. I tryed this same set up a year ago and i ended up giving my silver away. I wouldnt recomend doing it because Jars are just too aggressive.
