315 Gallon Setup - TITAN AQUATIC!!!

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
4650 gph on a 315? Geeeez.

yea i was thinking its a little much too but ill hook the 2 pumps up anyways to find out. my sump is massive as well. 5x2x22 inches high. there will be a lot of media and 3 compartments that the water has to go through. itll add another 100 gallons or so of water so that makes the total 420 +/-. also the pump to the top of the tank is at 5 feet height. that lessens the GPH as well!!!

thanks guys! clown loach is 12 inch. hes a big guy with a big appetite to show for!!!

i designed the sump and got a local fish tank manufacturer to make it for me. its a bit of a copy of the megaflow 4 for the intake into the sump and the rest are just reg chambers. 1st chamber houses bacteria house. 2nd will be bio film/moving bed filter and the 3rd i will store all the old media from my old tank (ceramic rings and crush coral). after its cycled, i will be switching the 3rd compartment to house more bio film media and put crush coral in the smaller compartments.

here are some pics of the stand and sump during production just incase someone needs these pics for their own build! if you are interested and local in vancouver bc, i can refer you to the manufacturer.

beautiful tank and sump, what are those cream colored round things you are using as bio filter media? is that better than bioballs?

It's biomedia called Bacteria House, designed for use in Bakki Showers. Here's an article with more info: http://www.makc.com/bakki.pdf

It's quite popular in Japan primarily being used on koi ponds, and it's become more popular around the world over the last couple years.

And here's a video of a Bakki shower with Bacteria House:

Cool build bud! I'd be interested in finding out more about the tank and sump manufacturer seeing as how I'm pretty close to you (relatively lol) and I'm planning my own monster build pretty soon.
