its 32 inches how does that fit into a pvc?
here is how i moved my huge beast(42 inches)i had a friend use a cod net and put his head in the net and lifted him up.I then grabbed his tail with a beach towel and on three we flipped him out into a huge rubber maid.The entire room was soaked as well as myself.The cod net was destroyed,the acrylic tank got all scratched,as well as my arms.Good luck,be careful.

and you still got your tank all scratched up and got the room soaked-

there are huge pvc pipes in different diameters- Those are the most safest route to lift a catfish out of as you can cap the ends in like a gator box. AND that was the reason why I said a bucket as other option for those who can't find huge PVCs !!!!

OR can do a cheaper thing and get cheap buckets and cut the hole on the bottom of the bucket to fit another bucket to make a longer pipe if needed - it has been done before.

I dont care how LONG the catfish is 32'' its more of its girth that one would have to worry about when finding the right PVC shape. the smaller it can fit in the less thrashing it can dish out but if it wasn't a show catfish I would just have done a cast net and been done with it.

I "netted" my large cats with pvc/plastic laundry hampers. They stand up to catfish abuse and drain water quickly. I've shipped large spiny cats in plastic bags by keeping them in the laundry hampers during shipping. The basket's holes/slots dramatically cut down the cats abilities to puncture/slice the plastic bags to shreds.

wish I have had thought about that before- would try that next time a friend asks me to move their big guys. Plus its easier to find in target or walmart instead of going to a hardware store. This is also a great idea on a smaller scale as well too! Not just those big ones.

go to youtube and look up bumble bee grouper.. its the one were it says moving a 60 pound grouper or something along those lines... thats what its gana b like... but i would do the exact same thing in the video
