320 gallon side panel, repairable??

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Well I can't seem to get a hold of the guy so maybe it's gone already.
I'll update when I find out. And probably do a repair thread if I get it.
I'll be replacing the panel, I wouldn't want to risk it not holding.

Thanks for the tips. I'm really digging the forum...

I'm going to hijack my own thread here but I gotta ask....
Does this statement make any sense?

Looking at a so called 250 gallon, but when I enter the measurements it only equals 108.....
Here's his reply to my saying that..

My 125 has larger dimensions than that. Right off the top of my head it's 72x18x23. Dude doesn't know what he's talking about.

millerkid519 millerkid519 , what about Momentive RTV108 for a 125 gal repair? I have a separate thread going for that

It's a foot longer than a 75 standard. Not sure how it worked out that way, because the dimensions originally given were nice.

The second measurements are for a second tank I'm look at , in case the larger one was sold already...

Oh my bad. I know nothing about building tanks except that millerkid was spot on, ge is not something I would trust with over a ton of water weight.

Those dims sound like a 5' 120G. Most certainly not 250 gallons.

Even if you can't patch or replace the cracked pane you could take the front or back panels and make a really nice plywood tank.

Ya I've been thinking about that. I'd love to build a floor tank at about 8ft x ?? About 48" or so tall....
To much of a hassle to move one I'd image, since I'm renting...but as soon as we buy our next house it's on for sure...

Ok the 320 gallon guy says he still has it..
Now I'm excited, and nervous at the same time.

That thing is going to weigh about 400lbs?? And I'm worried about that broken pane shifting or allowing the whole tank to flex and crack in other places ...

This definitely has to stay flat and only be set down on flat surface right? Or am I being too cautious?
With my 55 gal and smaller tanks I flip them over, tilt them sideways and stand them up and never had any issues but this is waaaay heavier being build from 1/2 glass...

So what is the best and safe way to move this thing and get it loaded into a truck or possibly a van without killing it or one of us?

A couple guys and two furniture dollies? Or will it take more people?
If everything works out I'll make the two hour drive this weekend.....
