33 gallon growout

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Silvers grow fast, mine was near 24" in 7-8 months

I was under the impression they slowed down after around 18" or so.

On average they continue rapid growth upto 24-25", there have been cases of rapid growth to 30". Both of my 28" silvers slowed at 24-25", they then put on more bulk and bodiy height.

Thanks Derick for your *advice* once again everyone on this forum has had it jammed down their thought before.

My silver is in a 180 like I said 6 foot X 2 foot he is 16” like I said so he is in a tank that is 3X his length and wider than he is long. Also 1.5” a month is a joke. Yes young silvers do grow fast but a new born does not grow to be 24” in a year.

Well for some "jamming" is the only way it can be done. Then with some, they just do what they want no matter what. Is your math that bad? Where did I say it would grow from a new hatchling(what idiot would think an aro to be born) to 24" in a year? Anybody who really wants to know the true growth rates of a silver aro have a look through the arowana sub-forum.

BTW I didn't say your tank was too small, I said it was a growout:duh: which means it will eventually become too small once your aro is over 24".

id upgrade the 180 to a 300 within another 6 months if i were you. like the poster said above me, he will be 2 foot in no time and they do have the tendency to get to 30 inches to..

You said 2" a month. Do I need to remind you how many months are in a year?

I also never said that my 180 was not a grow-out I was asking about a 32 gallon that is a grow-out for my 180.

Thanks for the advice but you can feel free to leave my thread alone before you get another closed. Thanks
