330g Clown loach pond...

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
empty not sure in lbs but abou 20kg, not alot one person could lift it but its size makes it awkward as hell, very easy two man lift. That was the main reason i bought it. Didn't fancy trying to get a 180g up a flight of stairs!

ok been running with fish for a week now. Had a lot of fun trying to prime the 2260 as the pump now sits above the waterline. The clown loach are hiding as they have spent most of their years in a glass tank, every time i enter the room they scatter! Hopefully this will change and I can get some pictures up soon. I am planning on using sand as a substrate, is pool filter sand light in colour?
Also need some suggestions on filtration, I am planning on using a pond canister with a submersible pump to overcome the priming issues although maybe an fx5 would help?
Also tankmates, suggestions would be appreciated, nothing thats likely to eat the loaches though, so i'm guessing aros are out of the question? Lighting is also a bugbear at the moment maybe a floor standing lamp would work.

for the record this was the worst idea i ever had! Fine in summer but in winter it caused awful humidity issues. Don't try this unless you are prepared to run a massive dehumidifier or live in an arid climate!

Really is it that bad ? Has it kept heat ok ? Was looking at them laguna tubs myself a while back. Would a lid on it not help with humidity problem

Heat was fine I ran 4x300w standard heaters. A lid would have definitely helped, the loaches are now thriving in a 180g as we have moved flats. You could get away with this in a smaller room maybe, with excellent ventilation.

I was going to put it in the garden and fill it with natives but I moved flats and ended up leaving it behind :(
