+1 to that, in a 4' square tank a big aro is going to constantly be chasing it's tail. 30" aro = 8' length for swimming at the very least.

I see what you mean but it wouldn't be literally chasing its tail, each side is 18" longer than him. Was thinking on the mins in the sticky that say 30" Afrowana would need a 6x3, I thought a square might be ok with deco in th middle because he rarely swims around and hides a lot and swims on the bottom. But when he grows ill definitely sell him then he's 12" right now

So the adult fish can't even swim the length of its body before having to turn, I certainly wouldn't want to keep a large active fish like that. I disagree with the sticky, 6' length isn't enough for any 30" arowana, regardless of species. I'm watching my 13" black aro swim lengths of my 140cm long tank as I type this and trying to imagine him twice the size in a tank shorter than the one he is in now, I certainly wouldn't be happy with it.

Solid advice, I definitely will be looking at getting him a nice big home then sir!

Maybe some type of rat would work better in those foot prints?
