Just started my 78x36x30 plywood build and was just wondering what everyone's personal suggestion is for liquid rubber or sealant for tanks. Also any other veteran tips are appreciated thanks!
I have never tried to build a plywood tank, but if I did I would use pond armor. I have though of building a plywood tank with just the bottom being plywood. Like uaru Joey. Check out his how to build a large aquarium videos. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2beOiIgBvUM
Pond Armour for sure. Love that stuff. If it gets hard to work with heat it up. I got that tip from the manufacturer after initially running into problems
Ill add alot more info/pics tomorrow but just a quick question for you all. Has anyone used or heard info of an epoxy called max Acr seems alot cheaper than pond armor but does it have more drawbacks? any info appreciated
I used the fiberglass epoxy and I have had no problems. What I like about epoxy is that it soaks into the wood so it's really water proof. As long as you make sure you coat all surfaces including edges you should be fine. I did 4 coats including fiberglass cloth for strength.
