$3500 for a 10" blue eye wow

I guess the royal is now considered the poor mans blue eye? Id like to have one but not for that price.

Closest thing I can aford to a blue eye is the papa panaque same body pattern and color without the blue eye

Back in the day they were known as the "poor man's royal pleco"... and ran about $20 for a 8"-er.

Interesting fish but certainly not worth hundreds or thousands (to me at least).

I view them as a perfect demonstration of how rarity makes a fish much more desirable in the hobby.

I had one back in the 90's paid about $40. It was also about 8inches. Mine hide all the time and died after 3-4 months. The Royal I had lasted longer. I haven't had either since.

They are not worth more than 800 for a good sized fish. All these people asking 1300+ never sell them and keep dropping the price after a while. I love Panaque but those guys are ugly and not worth the money IMHO. I would rather dish out the money for some nice gold lines.

My wholesaler has them for 450 right now and has a quite a few, I just lost mine recently but dont think I will replace it I paid 800 wholesale for 3 years ago

Shark Aquarium had the same fish for 1500. Not to mention that Riverwonder sits right next to Massive Aggression when it comes to top scammers.
