ok a little update. I need to go to a friends place to use his saw to cut my 2x4's to make them flush. I have a large selection of woodworking tools but they are over 500Miles away I haven't got all my stuff from my old place out here to BC yet. they are being used in my dads shop also right now. tools I wish I had here: table saw, router, sliding compound Miter saw, drill press, Kregs Jig, hydrolic lift table, scroll saw, band saw, lathe, jointer, belt sander, orbital sander, 24" planer, metric and standard set of bradpoint bits, finishing nailer and brad nailer. Dang I really need to get my tools here it would make this alot easier.

tools I have here 18V drill, 18V bit driver, 18V circular saw, jigsaw, silicone gun, 18V Recipricating saw

hey guys sorry this has taken so long to get going I thought of starting a new thread but thought screw it lets just resurect the old one. so heres what I did today. PIcked up 1 5 gallon pail of ZAVLAR from Home Hardware. yes thatys right for all you Canadians you can buy this stuff at home hardware. they have it in their warehouses across the country. its by Liquid rubber. so I followed the recomendation of the LR rep and sealed the corners with BUTYL RUBBER CAULKING

I cut all the lumber today. using 2 sheets of 3/4" plywood and 1 sheet of 1" plywood.

also I ran 2x2's around all the lower seams and ran a bead of butyl rubber on the plywood seam before adding the 2x2 then I caulked the seams of the 2x2's. the ply has about 200 screws in it and then there is another 200 through the ply into the 2x2. I don't want to risk a seperation. the front frame is 2x2's cut and joined at a 45. I ran a bead of caulking under the front 2x2's before I put them in. just a little extra security. then ran a bead over the seam once it was screwed in. here are some pics. sorry I never took any until I had it all cut and sealed together. zavlar begins tomorrow.

Now that's an idea I haven't seen before. Looking forward to watching your progress.

I was going to order some Zavlar myself this week and then we got hit with a record snowfall last Friday. I need the highway to clear to ensure that I can get it here without it getting cold.

1st coat of Zavlar is on just waiting for the weather to cooperate to put the second coat on. I hope to have 2 more coats on by the weekend then pull the old tank apart and get the glass cut down. we'll see how it goes
