35g Cichlid Tank?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I got a Keyhole on a whim, and it's been a really great fish. Fast grower, low aggression (it's in a semi-aggressive community), lots of personality, and they look a lot better once fully grown.

I would say no salvini's unless you get one female and the I would put only a male convict in with her. And a lot of rocks like fill the tank half way (in the back) with them.

I have a setup suggestion that is one I have had in the past and it was great. I had a bristlenose pleco, a pair of sajica, a pair of rainbow cichlids, a male firemouth and 6 swordtails. It was lightly planted with micro swords and two amazon swords. And eco complete mixed with sand for the substrate. This was in a 36 inch tank. I provided plenty of caves in the lower part and put the amazon swords on the sides to allow for a big swimming space in the middle top portion of the tank it was very active and very attractive I used to get comments on it all the time.

Well good luck with whatever you end up stocking. There have been a lot of good suggestions here. That's just a tank I had in the same size range when I wanted to go with a cichlid setup
