360 gallon Auto Drip/Water Change System Flow Rate

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I stopped checking how much I drip. It's just not good to test the water flow. Only good to test the nitrates. Mine are around 5 and the fish are happy

First of all, awesome tank. That dat is real nice.

My system is about 700g all up and I change between 35-45% a week.

My nitrates are 0. (Same as all params)

I am not over stocked, and have a small amount of pothos to help as well.

Also I use a pump on a timer to pump out dirty water first and have a top up unit to refill with clean water. So I am not removing the diluted water. And its easily adjustable incase I change stock.

We have a very similar setup. I currently have a small dosing pump that runs all the time draining water out of the tank. Then I have an auto top off that kicks in and keeps the tank filled with clean 50% ro 50% tap water.

Before the drip I tried to maintain my nitrate below 40 ppm. I have a high fish load and am a heavy feeder.

I guess based on everyone's advice I will just adjust the flow out of the tank until my nitrates level off at or near zero.
