I have a 50gal sump with ceramic rings in the bottem and bioballs in the section where they are to go..:d. I use the sump more for mechanical purposes as I also have a Ehiem Pro 3 for the biological filtration, please 2 powerheads with a sponge filter to further polish the water which works great after feeding.

50gal Sump..this is an old pic..I've added lots of ceramic rings in the space below the bioballs as well as on the far right compartment of the sump. (Ignore the fluval404 behind the sump, was just getting this unit BB going...)

Here's how I've mapped out my filtration...works good for the last 2 years.

Lost count...had it for 2 years plus....around $4000...going to finally wrap it with millwork this year....just didn't have time nor money Plus had to give wife a few years to get over it! LOL....especially when it's in the Kitchen!

Are black aros difficult to get over there? My supplier keeps asking me if I wanted more...like I said, I was going to grab a couple more but when in another 6 months, their food bill will surpass my family's! lol

I have only seen 2 in the ast few years, an they were like 16" , labeled as "Blue" aros an way outve my price range. feel free to send me some, (for free )

LOL on the fish that can't close their mouths! LOL

Anyway..I'll update some pics shortly, but parrots are gone and recently removed the rocks and only kept the wood...BUT the parrots did distracted the Aros from fighting for a week or so....now since I've taken them out, the RTG Aro owns the tank and pushes the Black Aros to a very same corner....MAN talk about dominance....
