366 g arowana tank.

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I'm working on that. I'm trying to gety hands on a nice specimen from Thailand. It will take some time but I think it's whort the wait. Besides, it's the only way I can get one :asianarow:

The technical details will come later with the pictures.

I would like to ask those who have the experience with this same fish ( really need experience funded coments). I'm aiming for this live stock:
- Asian arowana x1
- clown loaches x2
- marble motoro stingray x1
- oscars x2
Should I be concerned with the loach/stingray combo?
Thanks guys, updates soon.
:stingray: Gets here Friday!!!

Diogo,

I never kept the combo stingray+clown loaches but read (here) of several that did without major issues.

As regards the CL, "the more, the merrier". So, try to get a shoal with a minimum of 5.

Lastly - you probably know this, but nevertheless it´s better to say it... - remember you need a mature tank to receive the stingray while you are setting up this one. It may take a few months before being able to introduce the motoro to this tank.

Hi João,

thanks again, you're always helpfull!
The stingray will go into the 100 gal which is all set for a long long time.
It will be easier to manage until the 360 g is "out of order".
Thank again!

In a tak that size your gonna want to go with a dozen or so clown loaches. They do much better around large predator fish when kept in groups. Check the link in the bottom of my signature. I had 11 5-8" in my 450g at that time.

Thanks for the feedback sir, really apreciated. Very nice tank btw :clap

Like I said, here's the technical stuff:

- the tank is a 7ftx3x2,3 glass tank (360gls)
- I'm currently trying to decide between the eheim professional or the fx6 (I'll be using 2 of those either way) or a pond pressure canister filter with integrated uv ( roughly 15,000 l/h)!!!
- 3x 300w jagger eheim heaters
- 2 set of led lighting and 1 set of moonlight led ( a treat for the :stingray: )
- driftwood ( the endless search for the perfect piece ) and some anubia sp for some green ( probably they won't last a week but no harm in trying )
- vortech mp40w pump for some bottom current, if I can find it... -.- yes, I've lost a 400$ pump!

i think I'll go bare bottom for various reasons

finally, black background and black left side ( front/ right side view only so no point in keeping the left side transparent )

I'll post some pictures of the structure and explain what are my plans for the under side of the tank.

As always, feel free to comment and guide me in the right direction ( other wise I wouldn't post my build and ask questions :D )

Thanks, I'll keep you posted

Wait for an Asian aro, u can always find out if there are more people who wants them and import them, min. For most of the aro farm in Asia is 12 and they ship it to your nearest airport, good luck

Thank you very much for the feed back Stan, i guess i already said that i was trying to import one but no problem ( if what you are saying is wise, you can say it as many times as you want ).
The only setback is that it will take some time. First I will have to cycle the big tank properly, then do the prospecting for a reputable farm, take care of the paperwork and wait for a quality specimen.
