Not fatherly advice at all, Im just 24. :)

Your friends own their own business, GREAT for them. Seriously, great for them. I even mentioned that that is her best hope.

Also I am perfectly cool with tattoos and piercings but you said it perfectly, "you just may not see them exposed," and that is fine. I will have to disagree with you regarding looks. Any professional company is not going to hire some one with gauges, period. I've worked as a Business Analyst for a top Fortune 100 company that employs 30K plus people and does BILLIONS of dollars in business a year. There is NO WAY she would get hired even to sweep the floors at that company.

I have nothing personal against this look I love having the freedom to choose to do this if one wishes. I just am not naive enough to think that putting giant holes in your ear lobes will NEVER make anyone thing anything negative about you. I am sorry but its natural and appearance is very important.

I don't what these people are going on about. I like the woodwork on those hoops. Like something between furniture and a tribal game. And they're your ears which you were kind enough to share with us. Reminds me of my dreadlock days. :)

I am sorry but its natural to judge some one initially by appearance and remember, first impressions are everything. If you say otherwise, youre in denial.

I am FAR from close minded, my mind is not so open that my brain has fallen out.

Dude. Seriously? Get a life. Get off the computer and go to your fortune 5,000 company and do something useful with yourself.

Can you guys read logically or do you all let emotion get the best of you?

I have no problem with this. I am simply stating that it is true that having large gaping holes in your ear lobes WILL instill a negative impression of you to the vast majority of people upon seeing you. I never said these negative impressions are true. You could be the smartest most successful person I know, and honestly I hope you are, I wish success upon anyone who works for it. Again, Im am merely pointing out that this look will indeed give you problems with the vast majority of people.

Do you all really believe that most people find this look presentable and professional? Seriously, do you?

Edit to add: I want a serious answer to the above question.
