I read the first two pages of this thread, and had to stop. I just wanted to say:

I think body piercings are sexy on a woman (in a very sexual way), but in all truthfulness it IS much more difficult to get a job with visible piercings and tattoos. Everyone in the world is not open to extreme body modification.

I also think many folks pierce or tat themselves up to fulfill their desire to have a certain image. I used to think I wanted to be covered in tats because it was hardcore, but I realized that no matter how much I told myself and my friends that "I did it for me", I was lying. There would be no logical explanation for doing it otherwise.

If you like pain, there are thousands of other ways to inflict pain upon yourself that don't leave visible deformities as you age.

Some people say they have done it to respect the ancient African cultures or some nonsense.... You don't adopt ancient cultures because they pierce their skin... If thats he truth, then how come you never studied the culture you are trying to practice?

With that being said, its still pretty sexy when you are young and you will probably either grow out of it or be the old lady with the tats and piercings that works waffle house for then next 50 years. Yes, there are many exceptions, but the odds are stacked against you. Just keeping it real folks.

Deny the fact that not all people are unbiased and open minded when hiring employees all you want, but denial won't change the facts. I have tattoos and stuff, but none of it is visible in the work place.

Great post. it pretty much describes how i feel about the whole thing. it's beyond amusing seeing people get defensive and deny the simple facts. i honestly believe the thread would've died down if people would've just acknowledge it instead of it becoming a pissing contest of how successful some "counter culture" people have been. it'd be like me denying that racial sterotypes play a part in peoples lives and using "well, obama is president" or "Condaleeza was part of the white house staff" as my argument. i see it no different then sterotypes of pierced/tatted up people and i imagined i'd look silly if i were denying sterotyping still happened.

Someone said earlier in the post that there was only one hot girl, after seeing leah's hair pics, they were definetely wrong. she really is awesome. love the old hair styles

Yeah I agree. I think it is all veryyy silly. but it is how the world is. It take a loooonngggg time for people to change. Thanks by the way. It's cool tho.. they can think I'm a uggo I got the man of my dreams already. He accepts me for me, big stupid ear holes.. silly tattoos, fish addiction and all. :)

I actually have never had a problem landing jobs. Even with the way I look or dress. I also did get my tatts for myself. Its kinda funny people think it would be really hard for someone to get a job with piercings and tattoos. I love my tatts... I sat down drew them out and had them done. I don't display them.... Unless I happen to wear something that actually shows them off. Why?.... They are for me.
