now thats how you turn junk into functional junk!

Pretty much.

It is very awesome. You should definatly try to breed some angelfish. Then you can tell me your secrets...
Plantinum Angelfsih look very good. Especially if you get some with a little neon blue on the dorsal fins. Very cool.

how big is your frontosa colony

Well I don't actually have any of the breeding fish yet. My local pet store is selling a colony of 6 frontosa (around 4" long) for $300. Quite a bit more then I'm willing to spend. Also I've been in there 3 times in the past 2 months and have never seen any 2 paired off, eggs, fry ect. So I don't think they would be a good investment for breeding.

I did see a 5" Melanochromis at my local Big Al's for $26. Dont know if its male or female though.

Getting the angelfish shouldn't be a problem. I've seen lots of different types of breeding size in my local pet shops.

4" is too small for them to breed. They'll probably need another year or two before they are ready.

Thanks for the info. I think the frontosa will be something to breed down the road a ways. Right now I'd like to see if I could make some money doing this with other "cheaper" fish.

if i was you i would start raising them now since they take so long to grow and in acouple of years you would have a group rdy
