I have a 37 gallon tall tank and was wondering what stocking suggestions people had, I was thinking angelfish or discus just not sure if it’s large enough for a small group of discus or if they are too hard to keep. Any thoughts?

.If your tap water parameters are in the neutral range (pH 7 ish, or lower, with low to moderate hardness) aquarium strain angels will work for a while.
If your water has a high pH,(7.5 and above) with moderate to high hardness, either a pair of smaller Amatitilantia (Cons, nanolutrus ) of small rift lake African cichlids.
Or better yet, no cichlids at all but instead ...... stocked either smallish tetras or live bearers, that are geographically appropriate to your water parameters that don't grow over 3.5 " (6 cms).

I wouldn’t do angelfish(but you could maybe do 1), definitely don’t do discus as they they need a larger tank. I would recommend a single Bolivian ram as your centrepiece as they are full of character and it’s a great tank size for them. Then add some shoaling fish(eg. Emperor tetras, harlequin rasboras) and then a Bristlenose pleco and a group of cories. That will be an awesome planted community tank. It does depend on water parameters and there are other options such as shell dwellers if your parameters are more suited for them.
