So how much did you end up paying for the caulk the cheapest I found was 9.83 a 10.1 ounce tube.

Thanks for all the comments guys. Mike, I think I am good on the drip plate for now, but thanks for the offer. Nighthawk, I bought my silicone from Grainger's, and paid around $10/tube. That was about the cheapest I could find and I didn't have to pay for shipping, since I had a store nearby.

yea thats where I found it too so I guess thats as good as it gets, how many tubes did you use again i remember you saying you bought 6 but ran out its alot to remember i should of wrote it down...

I think I ended up using 10 or 11 tubes of silicone, but wasted at least 3 or 4 tubes when I messed up the front panel and had to redo it. I could have gotten by with 7 tubes if I did it right the first time. I also put the silicone on very heavy, with thick seams, so if anything I overdid it with silicone.

How did your "spacers", the little sticky bumpers, work out?

When I disassembled my 75 gal, the top corners were so tight there was basically no silicone inbetween. Is this bad? should I try to prevent it? I realize its much smaller, ergo much less force, but since I've come this far I'd like to do it right. Thanks.

The spacers are still embedded in the silicone. The tank has been full for 10 days with no issues. So to this point, I'd say they are working out ok. I am certainly no expert on siliconing a tank together, but I would think the spacers wouldn't be necessary on a tank the size of a 75 gallon. If they were needed on that size tank, I would think the manufacturer would be using them.
