The tank is very tall and is like a tower sitting on the stand, it feels like a 400-500 gallon.
I was planning on running a sump underneath the tank, however, I am not sure if everything will fit. I have never used a sump (or made one for that matter), but I have been researching it and will begin designing the system shortly. The main issue is the opening on the stand are smaller than I was hoping and I am not even sure if I could get a 55/75 gallon underneath (too small for this tank?). Also, the holes at the bottom of the overflows were covered by the previous owner with a piece of acrylic and silicone... and I am not sure if I will be able to remove it without re-drilling the holes
I am also going to plumb out one of the drains to a house drain to easily remove water for water changes.
What size sump would I need for this tank?
I am thinking of running a 55 gallon sump underneath, and maybe a Eheim 2080, but is that enough? Ideas?
My current setup is a 125 gallon (7 footer) and I am running dual Eheim Ecco 2236 Canisters with an extra HOB type canister for extra filtration and water movement. I would much rather go overkill on filtration, I just have never had to filter such a large tank (not that I am complaining )
