Melanochromis auratus is also a very aggressive species so I would return it to the LFS as well.

All the cichlids you currently have are usually recommended for a 48" long tank, however, as I noted in post #4, you also have other aggressive fish in that tank that would still be problematic.

For your 36" x 12" x 20"H tank, a group of Pseudotropheus saulosi would be a good choice.

The johanni, auratus, and zebras are 3 pretty aggressive species. I wouldn't be surprised if the auratus decided he wanted the whole tank for himself. People seem to have the most luck with them in 75 gallon or larger tanks.

You when I searched up the auratus I quickly learned about their aggression. So far, all fish are between 1 to 1.5 inches and there is no aggression or chasing. I do plan on returning the fish at first sight of overaggression. Which fish do you think could have bitten into my RT Shark's tail? Im assuming its either the Johanni, Zebras, or Auratus like you mentioned.

Yeah, Ill grow them out and see what the plan is from there. Right now everything is fine.
