Finally did it, on 2lb test. I did it last year but the line tested too high. This time it will go thru for sure, sendind all the stuff out Next Day Air tomorrow to IGFA. Current record is 20lbs on 2lb test. After this I'm done with this light of line. To frustrating at times.

I got there and it was very windy and an old man with a few kids were in my usual spot so I went to the other side where there wasnt any wind blowing at the time. I just took 4 poles, 2 for carp and 2 for cats. The past few days Ive noticed the huntchback grassy eating white flowers. Well he came back again today. But where the flowering tree is I'm not allowed on that property. So I casted as far as I could. Then I let the wind drift me and it couldnt have went any more perfect. There he was, mouth sucking in as many flowers and buds as he could and my small chunk of bread was next in line. And this time I got him! As soon as the hook set he jumped clear outa the water twice. Then he came cruzin by me, back and forth deeper and shallower, then got my net the first time and he took off, same thing for the second time, and then finally the third time and 36 minutes or so later he was in the net. I quickly weighed him, measured and took pics. Got him back in the water and he went crazy. But I held on to him for about 5 minutes and he didnt want any more of it so I have him a push and off we went. I should have taken a top shot because this guy was THICK.

He went 38 1/2"

if you dont send the fish in how do you prove hes as big as you say? im just curious how it works.

Great catch!! I agree that light tackle can be really frustrating....

Awesome job man! Seriously we are going to have to meet up and you show me the ropes! That looks like a blast! But you say youre giving up on light line...i propose your next challenge is on the fly!

Nice fish on 2 lb well done
Here in Australia we dont put them back not allowed to.

Not giving up light line!!!! Only 2lb test for carp ;)

It takes a forever to spool, takes some work to get the perfect knot and requires a lot of respooling after a catch or a few weeks on the spool with no catch.
