What size is the aquarium? and for what fish?

I got a 75G for African cichlids and I did my 3D background with styrofoam and Drylok. Pictures can be found in my other posts. If you have a monster tank, glue some slate rocks to make a background like how this guy did to his 240G Frontosa tank here http://www.fmueller.com/home/aquaristic/240g/

thatbb6, I visited your youtube. Is this the finished product? Outstanding, if so! I have considered doing this as well

I am currently doing styrofoam and "Quikrete, quick-setting" cement. Looks decent but it takes a long time to leach all the chemicals out. I've read reports that they had to change the water every day to get the Ph down to 7.2. The concrete will spike the Ph off the charts. But i have finished a few tanks (10 gal) and had them running with no problems for about two years.

Good Luck. Also youtube has a flood of DIY background videos. It should give you some ideas.

Yea. The 75G background is finished. Not the greatest but that was my first time doing that.

Make sure you go with Drylok and not anything else. This thing takes only an hour to harden, unlike cement. Go to cichlid-forum.com there are bunch of DIY background projects there.
