i would like to make my own background with aquarium safe silicone and driftwood but it looks expensive

I really like the looks of the Aquadecor but when I looked at them I felt like all the models they had stuck out too far into the footprint of the tank.
if you go to aqua decors website and cycle through the models you will eventually get to slim not slim large. the slim models
there is a few videos of guys making foam ones covered in cement on youtube but i dont know how fish safe they are haha
So is there a dealer in the US who handles Aqua Decor?
I have a Universal Rocks background in my 180,it certainly beats the old school film type backgrounds but Aqua Decor's product seems to be much better looking.

How are yall putting in heaters and filters with these in the tanks? I'm about to buy a 210 gallon tank and I too wanna do a 3D background
The background that I have is probably a half an inch thick or less so it does not interfere with the placing of filters and heaters.In fact,the overflow box has plenty of space to seat and remove easily with the background in place.I stick the heater on the side glass panel right up next to the background.
Albertan went with Universal Rocks for his background, "rocks" and "wood" pieces in his 1,000 gallon tank.
