3D background

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Mine is a designs by nature and it's not a rubber one. You need to figure out what kind of a look you want. There are many types out there from complete across the back to a partial like mine. So many people wrap their minds around full backgrounds and think it needs to be sealed off side to side and what not. That's fine but open up your mind and come up with something different!! There are a lot of module type ones that are not that expensive and can create a fantastic look.. Just a thought!

Thanks for all your suggestions guys! I greatly appreciate it. I'll check out the Universal Rocks and other backgrounds from Designs by Nature.

I don't think I'll mind getting a modular one as long as it will cover the whole back I guess. The reason that I wanted to get a 3D background was because the background paint that my tank came with isn't really very appealing. I always wanted a more natural looking tank. The blue-ish textured paint is no where close to being that lol. I also need to replace all the sand I currently have, which is a mixture of white and blue. Do you guys know where's the best place to buy a cheap dark colored substrate like a black sand? I've heard of the black diamond blasting sand but some people say they're very course. I have a BGK and I'm about to order my very first poly from Jurassic Aquatics. Do you think it'll be safe to use the blasting sand for a bottom dwelling fish?
