All of my tanks have black painted backrounds as im pretty sure most of you all do too.

How do you guys think a backround like this would affect their patterns ?

Also going to have the red garnet sand

Thx to Freshwater4Life Freshwater4Life for letting me use his pic.

Shouldn't have an effect. I've seen guys keep their bichirs with 3d background/white/blue/black/clear but with red garnet sand. Pattern and color on the bichirs are still looking superb.
I personally like the look of a 3d background but I like to maximize the width of my tank for my bichirs! Maybe if I got a monster tank one day.

I have that background in my 180.Though expensive,I love it.I did not pay full price for it as I bought it off of a fellow member.I'm not sure of the name of the gravel that I have but it is a brownish natural looking color that contrasts well with the background.

About how this is it ?

Background only pleases the owner, lol. But Joey just did a video install 3 days ago. He just left it in there willy nilly. No silicone or mounts.
