anybody own a3d tv? im looking to buy the new vizio 55" with the theater type glasses(no batteries, nice and light) and am wondering how much people are enjoying their 3d experiences or any drawbacks to buying a 3d tv.

this is after my lg 60 plasma that i receved for christmas just went out after 2 weeks...

I do not think there are any draw backs to 3dtv's. There are two types of 3dtvs.

-Passive 3d, which is what you would watch @ the movies. When watching 3d in passive your quality is cut in half. So your 1080p blue ray quality would be 540p per eye.
-Active 3d, which are battery operated. The lens jumps vertical/horizontal per eye to get your true 1080p when viewing in 3d.

I tested out both and I went with active. If you were to go to BB and watch the feed video at their store.... LG display(passive 3d)footage is far superior to Sammys(active 3d)Footage. The active glasses use to be 150 each!!!! Now they are around 20 bucks each. We bought a LED Edgeless 55" Sammy 3dtv and I have no regrets.
Clearly Plasmas show the best Black but I like my LED.
Hope this helps.
