The PeaPuffer wouldn't be able to eat the Cherry Shrimp I think but if they do, maybe try the leaches.. With the leaches, are they saltwater or freshwater? Im lost XD
They would 100% be able to take the cherry shrimp down. Most leeches are freshwater, with only a handfull of marine ones. Why do you think people use salt to get them off?

I think I’m gonna do tiger leaches, I’m super intrigued by the idea. Only think I don’t know of is the feeding, I have absolutely no problem having a leach suck my blood but the only thing I’m scared of is the leaches reputation for regurgitation and causing an infection. Would it be possible to feed the leaches with something else?

Sounds good. Can you get Tiger leeches in the US? Not sure if there is any other way to feed them

Tiger Leaches sound great! I think they you can buy some sort of insect from your local pet store. Worms seem like a good choice

I don’t see why I couldn’t get a hold of a few tiger leaches. How many could I do in a 3 gallon tank also what kind of scape would they require?

Think of a river or a lake where leaches would commonly live. Logs, rocks and hardscape with maybe some mud would probably suit them best

Ok. I would say 2-3. Scape like a marshy puddle. Think about where you get attacked by leeches, but more tropical

Would I need filtration? It says the prefer stagnant water so would like biweekly water changes be enough or even just topping off the water as it evaporates? I’ve never done a mud substrate, how would I do this?
