3M color quarts,, what grade do you like best?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
This stuff looks awesome!!! They do charge a bit for mixing it. It wound up costing $71. for 110lbs. That beats bagged LFS gravel though, at lest the nicer stuff.

Is there anything special you have to do to clean this stuff, or do you just rinse it in a bucket before putting it in the tank?

Thanks.
Joel

just rinse. the black t i have is pretty dirty, but the red and tan i barely even rinsed

Mine was pretty dirty. My hands looked like I was working with news paper. I'll run a lot of carbon to pull the murk out. I have to get a new bulb for the tank it's in. It's way PINK. :barf:

2nd & Sante Fe (northbound 1-way like 5 blocks north of Alameda)

Well, I got some pics of the new sand. I don't know if this should be in the "media" section or not. It does pertain to this topic? When did this get so confusing?

Anyway, I personally think it needs more dark brown but my wife likes it as is. She thinks it starts looking "muddy" if it's too dark.

Here are a couple pics, with & without a flash. This is just a temp tank, a 30gl. I am going to either do my 125, or my 55 with the sand. I have 110lbs. of it. LOL I just have to decide which tank I'm going to change.

By the way,, this is the Calico 4 + one part black

Looks good and very natural. I, myself, prefer darker substrates, though.
