3M COLOR QUARTZ S- GRADE SAND

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
looks good, not sure if its the color i would have went with a little to orange like you said but it looks like nice sand. How much does this stuff run price wise?

and how could anyone like bare bottom over sand? unless your jus lazy and dont like cleanin the sand cause it looks alllot better

It ran me 18 dollars for 50 lbs

i kinda agree with nic, that with rays bare bottom does look great. I may go back to it, or try silver sand. the only problem with bb is that i seem to get algae on the bottom of the tank and it looks like crap.

do you think that orange sand looks silly? lol

i think i am to that point, this orange looks silly.

is there an easy way to get sand out??? the last time i just did a water change and used the syphon and sucked it out and it sucked.

I actually liked the algea that covered the bottom of my tank....natural substrate.... I would clean it every couple months.... the orange isn't a bad look me personally would have used black....

I was thinkin of goin to sand in my 220g my 150 is full of Tahitian Moon sand and beleive me its not cheap.

Btw and suggestions on having sand with an FX5 filter? the 220 has two emperor 400's and an fx5. Dont want to buy sand just to have it end up in the filter.

sand and power filters is a iffy thing.... if the intakes are up high enough usually not a problem..... did ya switch back to BB???

made the change back to bare bottom last night., was thinking of possible adding white 3m sand tonight. Love the texture of the 3m sand, but did not like the orange color.

I was leaning to black but my tank is so dark already that i think white would brighten it up some.

I'm all about the barebottom after importing and being a hobbyist, keeping both imports and pets on sand and barebottom..

IMO, It's all about the cleanliness and condensing that syphoning surface area to a 6x6" corner.. but to each his own, aesthetics or functionality, you choose!
