3M quartz S/T grade black vs. Tahitian Moon Sand?

I've got a 125g tank, 6'x1.5'x2'. I was guesstimating 100#, that's why I was asking how much it took for whatever size tank those rays were in.

I also plan on having some plants in there, so I'd like it 1" deep at least. I've never run into problems with my play sand in my other 125g tank, and its 3-4" deep in most places. I use Malaysian Trumpet Snails to keep it well turned, plus the plant roots prevent anaerobic pockets, and the rays will spend time turning it over as well...

with rays you do not want it that deep. I bought 1 bag of the 3m and used maybe 1/4 of the bag on my 150.

I use black 3m s-grade in my ray tank. it does stick to them but they are real good and doing a little disc flip and it all comes off. Its cute, like a dog shaking water off. I used 2 bags to cover the entire bottom of my 180, although i've seen a lot of ray keepers only cover part of the bottom, and leave the rest bare. I guess to give the rays a choice I donno.

If you dont have a local supplier this site ships free. It used to be cheaper but now its 38.79 for a 50lb bag, which is better then anything I've ever found at any fish stores. http://www.vbpstore.com/50-lb-bag-of-3m-color-quartz.html

id say 20#s would do it and that will prob leave you with extra..... sand covers alot of square feet per pound ratio
