3M Quartz/SpectraQuartz RED vs Garnet sand

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Garnet is much better.
There are different quality grades of Garnet, the more expensive has deeper color than the cheaper.

Not only do I love 100% Garnet for it's effect on the fish, but I love how heavy it is, which in turn is good for my filter.

Yup I love it that it hasn't gone into my filters :)

Good luck Rod... ;)

In the 12/25 did you notice anything that would be harmful to fire eels .. poly.. or Cory cats...

Also have you guys heard of polysilicone carbide.... opinions if so..

garnet is extremely safe it is consider the standard in japan.

Absolutely no issues with it.... The African Arowana is a filter feeder, he would take sand in his mouth and throw it around :)

Have t heard of that stuff./.

Ok well I have about 30# of pfs in my 150... maybe I'll grab 50 of this... and use the 10# of black marine sand I have as well.... we''ll see how that turns out with all my driftwood
