I have never used this before but i hear it is GREAT for tanks and it looks great. I just want a opinion on what grade to use. Also if anyone can supply pictures of there tanks so i can decide what color to use, Any suggestions? Also what do you suggest to get it?

S grade is more smooth, spherical and resembles sand.

T grade is more abrasive, oddly shaped and resembles small pieces of gravel.

Personally i prefer S grade, im a sand guy. plus my plecos and corries love it! my ray loved it as well before i sold her.

Best color to choose is either:

-brown

-black

-buff

-tan (my favorite)

However, 3M colorquartz has been discontinued, it can be difficult to locate the remaining bags. u can read more about it here:

So it isnt around anymore? Why did they discontiue it? Any idea were i can find remaining bags? I will end up going s grade then if it resembles sand more.

I used it for some time. I had Grade S black sand. It looked amazing with plants, decorations, and the fish popped over it. The only thing I didn't like was that the fish scat showed up immediately. I hope you find some!

i have white in my tank now and it looks good, all non fish people think my tank is saltwater. Also im using the s grade, it emulate sand the best imo.

Wow, Thanks a ton shanon, i will defianitly be buying from them this weekend once i go put my check in the bank. Does anyone have any pics of there tanks with the color Quartz in it? I am still trying to decide on brown or black. Also when you look at the bag it says ceramic coated crystal i am suprised there are no chemicals in it that would harm fish. Also do you think this would be good for fish that dig and are scaleless? I know it is i just want to check.
