4 1" overflow handle 1100gph???

1" should be fine. More than enough probably

That's going to make it harder to match flows. I'm sure you've got the power outage issue covered, but doing that you'll have to match the pump exactly to the siphon of the overflows. Asking for trouble IMO. It's easier to put a power head in the bottom for circulation.

just make sure you set it up so the ones at the bottom have to go up before exiting the tank and you should be fine.
aka make sure you have a siphone break at the top so you don't have a mess if power fails

you'll still have an issue with matching flow rates that way.
 
i dissagree rally. i have mine sucking from the bottom but there still overflows. it all depends on the pvc on the back of the tank that determines height of water inside. i have 2 1" overflows pulling from the bottom with 800gph. 4 1" overflows should be fine, and 2 on top with 2 on bottom is a great idea. i needa make 1 more to skim my surface.
